We went out to the berry patch for the second time this season. The first time we picked 8 pounds of raspberries and blackberries. Today we mostly picked blueberries, which are Connor's FAVORITE! I think he ate half his weight in blueberries and only a select few made it into his bucket. Unlike most kids, he's very picky about the berries he picks...only the biggest and most ripe.
We walked away with 5 pounds of blueberries and 2 pounds of raspberries today. The best part: fresh picked berries for 99 cents a pound!
I'm sure you're asking yourselves what I'm going to DO with all these berries. Well, to put it simply, I'm squirrelling them away in the freezer. I want to get enough that I can try to make jam in the fall and still have some left over to bake with until next summer. Ambitious, I know.
